What this is
These Terms govern your use of askdavidc.ai and its product subdomains (maps, boca, tutor, elearning, follow, scholar) operated by Open Interface Engineering, Inc. ("OpenIE", "we"). By using the services, you agree to these Terms. If you don't, please don't use them.
What we offer
askdavidc.ai is a research and showcase platform for energy-efficient AI architectures. The services are provided as-is and may change, pause, or be retired without notice. Some features are experimental.
Sign-in and credentials
If you create an account, you authenticate with a passkey bound to your device. You are responsible for keeping that device secure. If you lose access, contact us — we cannot recover the passkey on your behalf.
You must be at least thirteen years old to create an account. If you are signing up on behalf of an organization, you confirm you are authorized to bind that organization.
What you may not do
- Use the services to generate or distribute material that is unlawful, harassing, defamatory, or that infringes others' rights.
- Attempt to disrupt, overload, or reverse-engineer the services for the purpose of attacking them or other users.
- Probe for, scan, or exploit vulnerabilities outside an authorized security-research context.
- Use the services to build or train a competing model or service from systematic scraping of our outputs.
- Attempt to bypass energy-metering, rate limits, or access controls.
We support good-faith security research. If you believe you have found a vulnerability, email [email protected] before disclosure.
Things you submit
You retain ownership of the content you submit. You grant OpenIE a limited, non-exclusive license to process and store that content solely as needed to operate the services for you, secure them, and comply with law.
We do not use your private content to train our models without your explicit consent.
Things we provide
The services, including software, design, models, documentation, and brand marks, are owned by OpenIE or its licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you rights in OpenIE's trademarks. Where specific code or content is published under an open-source or open-content license, that license governs use of that material.
Joules, not subscriptions
Where the services display an energy cost in joules, the value reflects our best estimate of the compute energy attributable to your request. Energy values shown during research and showcase phases may be illustrative and subject to refinement. Any commercial billing terms will be presented to you separately and must be accepted before they take effect.
As-is
The services are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, non-infringement, or uninterrupted operation. Outputs from AI components may be inaccurate or incomplete; verify before relying on them for consequential decisions.
The services are not intended to provide medical, legal, financial, or professional advice.
Limits
To the maximum extent permitted by law, OpenIE will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the services. OpenIE's aggregate liability under these Terms will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid OpenIE for the services in the twelve months preceding the claim or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars.
Ending the relationship
You can stop using the services and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these Terms or if we are required to by law. We will give reasonable notice where practical.
Updates to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. If a change materially affects your rights, we will give notice through the services or by email where we have your address.
Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to that jurisdiction.
