Who we are
askdavidc.ai is operated by Open Interface Engineering, Inc. ("OpenIE"), a Delaware B-Corporation headquartered in Sarasota, Florida. We can be reached at [email protected].
This notice covers askdavidc.ai and its product subdomains: maps, boca, tutor, elearning, follow, and scholar. Other OpenIE properties have their own notices.
What we don't do
We don't run third-party analytics. We don't run ad networks. We don't fingerprint your device. We don't sell, trade, or share your data with brokers. We don't build advertising or behavioral profiles. We don't track you across sites.
Our business model is energy-metered usage of our own services, not surveillance.
What we collect, and why
- Account identifier — if you create one, we store the passkey credential and any contact email you provide. Used to sign you in and reach you about your account.
- Content you submit — queries, conversations, files, and other inputs you send to a product. Used to produce the response and, if you choose to keep history, to render it back to you.
- Service logs — request timestamps, IP address, user agent, response status, and energy cost (in joules). Retained briefly for debugging, abuse mitigation, and capacity planning.
- Local preferences — your theme choice and cookie consent flag, stored in your browser's
localStorage. They never leave your device.
Cookies and local storage
We use only essential storage:
- Authentication — a session cookie if you sign in, so you stay signed in.
- Theme preference —
askdc_themeinlocalStorage, so we remember whether you picked light, dark, or auto. - Cookie consent —
askdc_consentinlocalStorage, so we don't keep showing you the banner.
No advertising cookies. No tracking pixels. No cross-site cookies.
Who else touches your traffic
- Cloudflare — fronts our DNS and TLS termination as a reverse proxy. Cloudflare sees request metadata in transit. We do not use Cloudflare's analytics products.
- Let's Encrypt — issues our TLS certificates.
That's the list. No analytics SaaS, no advertising tech, no marketing automation.
Disclosure
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We disclose data only when (1) you direct us to, (2) it is required to operate the service you requested, or (3) compelled by valid legal process. We will challenge overbroad requests where we have grounds to do so.
How long we keep things
Account data is kept while your account is active and deleted on request. Conversation history is yours to keep, export, or delete. Service logs are retained for a short operational window (typically days to weeks) and then aggregated or discarded.
Access, export, deletion
You can request a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. We honor requests under GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and similar regimes regardless of where you live.

Children
askdavidc.ai is not directed to children under thirteen, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under thirteen. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us and we will delete it.
Cross-border transfers
Our services run primarily in the United States. If you access them from outside the U.S., your information will be processed in the U.S. We rely on appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable) for transfers from the EEA, UK, and Switzerland.
Updates to this notice
If we materially change how we handle data, we will update this page and bump the date at the top. We will not retroactively reduce protections you were promised when you signed up.
