Open Interface Engineering, Inc.

OpenIE is a Delaware B-Corp headquartered in Sarasota, Florida, founded January 2026. We engineer the broken interfaces between systems, making failures visible, measurable, and eliminable.

Our thesis: every complex system fails at its interfaces. The deepest interface is the one between information and energy. We measure every operation in joules.

JoulesPerBit

JoulesPerBit is the deep research arm of OpenIE. We engineer the primitives that make energy-aware computation possible. The goal is to reduce global compute energy cost by 90% or more.

Less energy, faster answers

We built an AI architecture that reduces energy consumption and increases speed. Most queries resolve without touching a large language model. When an LLM is needed, our architecture routes to the most efficient path. The result: faster answers at a fraction of the energy cost.
